Willandra Desmond progeny excel in the All Purpose Classes at the Bendigo Australian Sheep & Wool Show 2015.
Congratulations to the McGauchie Family, ‘Terrick West’, for winning the Australian Merino All Purpose Hogget and the Champion March Shorn Ewe. Both of these exhibits were sired by Desmond.
Congratulations to John and Rosemary Humbert, ‘Kedleston Park’, whose two rams sired by Desmond in the Fine Medium Section gained 1st in the Lamb Class and 2nd in the 2 tooth Class.
Willandra is a family owned business with a long history of success. The original Willandra Merino Stud was established west of Hillston, NSW, in 1886 and was based on Wanganella F. No. 83 and Tasmanian bloodlines believed to be from Belle Vue.
In 1974, the Willandra Stud was purchased by the Wells family and moved to Jerilderie where they have proudly continued the tradition of breeding hardy, well-balanced fertile sheep carrying big fleeces of quality wool. Keeping abreast of current marketing and production trends and continuing to develop and improve the modern Willandra Merino bloodstock is of paramount importance.
